Disclaimer: Haru-Sari belongs to keiiii. I simply wish I owned adult!Chi-Min who, by the way, is sadly not in this. I also wish I owned Blonkie's (Leon Yearnings) anti-magic undies. But I don't. If Chi-Min is not completely in character, tough cookies for you.
(Yes, keiiii, the anti-magic undies comment was for you.)

Chi-Min VS The Branch The battle he found himself in was his most important battle to date.
The chess board that sat ever so innocently on the table silently mocked him. His own white pieces seemed to stare at him accusingly as he sent another of his pawns to its unwilling capture. He could swear it was kicking and screaming as it went - but, of course, chess pieces could not kick and scream or stare accusingly as they were simple, inanimate objects.
As, supposedly, was the controller of the black chess pieces.
Though by looking at him you would never know it, Doctor Chi-Min Huang was glaring at his (supposedly inanimate) opponent. Through his calm, indifferent exterior, venom was shooting at his one and only nemesis: The Branch. As the offensive tree limb took its turn, it let out a low chuckle that, for some odd reason, only Chi-Min could hear.
'How could The Branch even assume Miss June would like such an uncouth piece of firewood?' were the elf's scornful thoughts. The doctor placed a knight and went back to his musings as his enemy planned its next move.
'No hair. So bald and ugly with bark that twists and turns. I know for a fact that Miss June prefers hair. Which is why I'm perfect– I have hair.' His turn again. Sweat beaded on his forehead so slightly, you would have to look very hard to not miss the perspiration. A rook was placed next to the enemy queen and he once more leaned back to contemplate his challenger.
'So what if The Branch is a five-time chess champion? It can't drink orange juice or try to find ways to heal Miss June. It really is good for nothing.' The queen took Chi-Min's rook and the small, aloof doctor unnoticeably clenched his jaw and planned his next move. A hand, child-like in appearance, moved his queen forward.
Chi-Min wanted to win. He really did. The prize from this competition was far too great to pass up on. And so, it was to his great disappointment that The Branch, in all its vileness, took Doctor Huang's king. The tiny medical practitioner saw red as he destroyed his opponent with his magic.
As Chi-Min readied himself for his date with June Delias, he smirked at his reflection. It looked like he won that chess match after all. Although, he had to wonder just how it was The Branch managed to move its pieces.
